HIDA team meets with Minister of Lands, Environment, Forestry, Water and Mines

On 8th February 2007, at 5.00 pm., a team from HIDA, the Human Resources and Institutional Capacity Development Agency, led by the Director, Mr. Charles Karake visited the Minister of Lands, Environment, Forestry, Water and Mines, Hon. Christopher Bazivamo at his office.


Karake briefs Minister

The purpose of the visit was to update the Minister on the ongoing and planned capacity building activities in the country that HIDA is coordinating and facilitating. In addition, the team briefed the minister on the capacity building support for the Ministry that HIDA would facilitate using resources provided by the World Bank through the Public Sector Capacity Building Project.

Key capacity building support earmarked for the Ministry in 2007 include among others strengthening the ministry’s procurement capacity, development or improvement of strategic planning tools, enhancing leadership and management skills, basic and professional ICT training as well as monitoring and evaluation. This capacity building package will feature in the MoU which will be signed between HIDA and the Ministry.
